THE FIRST STOP FOR THE ROGIET COMMUNITY
ABOUT US
ABOUT ROGIET COMMUNITY JUNCTION
Rogiet Community Junctions purpose is to provide social opportunities for the village to combat loneliness.
We opened our weekly breakfast and cake cafe in 2015 and now also run a six weekly Kids Kafe, and a monthly free Cinema.
Our current aim and that of the village, is to build a permanent community shop and café. We are now with the community, planning the design of the building and the products it will stock.
All RCJ surplus funds go back to the community. These have included wifi in the community hall, the Cinema, Kids Kafe, four village fun days, Christmas and social events.
Since the cafe first opened we have been providing a space where everyone is welcome. We know that for some people the cafe has been their lifesaver.
By having a permanent cafe and shop we can bring more of the community together, and together can create a stronger healthier community.
UPDATE JUNE 2021:
We have secured planning permission and thanks to the support of players of the National Lottery Community Fund, we’ve been awarded a capital development grant of £38,079. This will pay for all the professional costs to complete our construction designs to RIBA stage 4 and pay for our project manager to oversee the process and secure the funding for the build costs.
We are hoping that Spring 2022 will see a brand new community shop, café and teaching kitchen in Rogiet. So it’s full steam ahead from now on. If you’d like to get involved please get in touch.
How we work
We are a registered CIO, charity number 1177584
We have a board of 6 trustees, a steering group of 9 with specific responsibility for the development of the Community Shop and Café Project.
In total we have around 40 volunteers. Some are behind the scenes, but it's everyone's contribution that together makes it happen.
